Lorry Loader Training & Safety Course

To train candidates in the safe use of Lorry Loaders. By law, employers have a general duty to ensure that the health and safety of their employees and members of the public is not put at risk as a result of the work that they do. Employees also have a duty to look after their own health and safety, and that of anyone who might be affected by their work.

HSE recommends that the same or higher standards be applied to workplace drivers as are applied to those allowed to drive on public roads. Every driver, and particularly younger or less experienced drivers, should be instructed to drive and work in a responsible and careful manner. This course is designed with all the above in mind and is aimed at Drivers of Vehicles equipped with Lorry Loaders (cranes) and also vehicle drivers whom have responsibility for loading unloading their own vehicles.

Any owner driver or company who employs drivers operating Lorry Loaders /cranes who should hold the correct qualifications as requested by law. Warehouse operatives and any other persons involved in Lorry Loader/crane operation.

• To cover relevant laws governing the safe use of Lorry Loaders/cranes. (PUWER and LOLER regulations.)
• Ensure full understanding of the manufacturer's operating instructions,  Basic principles and causes of instability, sitting the Loader, setting up procedures.
• Give candidates a daily checklist of pre operational checks.
• Advise on defect reporting.
• Slinging. Signalling,
• Safety rules.  General  Operating.
• Closedown/stowing for transport.
• Lorry Loader Attachments
• Training records for each trained candidate.

Courses can be adapted to suit individual business needs and can be conducted on site
